Goals
Building STI based Resilience against various uncertainties at community level for developing equitable, sustainable and resilient society.
Common Project Objectives:
Strengthen and supplement resilience building at community level through appropriate STI based
interventions
Capacity building in relevant STI solutions at community level for self-reliance against various
uncertainties and other aberrations for risk reduction, adaptation and mitigation.
Strengthening STI based socio-economic and ecological resilience of the communities for sustainable
development
Title of The Project: Integrated community resilience empowerment by accelerating sustainable
livelihood options and local resources-based solutions
CRRC: Under this project, establishment of Community Resilience Resource Centre (CRRC) in
Bhagwanpur Block, Haridwar District, Uttarakhand State) is proposed, for all six blocks of the district
stakeholders
What is CRRC: A single window dynamic knowledge transfer platform for need based solution packages
against selected uncertainties for community.
Identified Uncertainties: Multidimensional poverty index, Reduced livelihood opportunities, Epidemic
situations & slowdown
What CRRC will do:
CRRC will accelerate community resilience by transferring suitable applied technical skills among the
selected beneficiaries to cope up the identified uncertainties.
Proposed CRRC will function as dynamic technical knowledge hub for locally suited applied technical
skilling and upskilling in demand based specific streams for building resilient community through
networking and partnership with technology resource and expert institutes.

Resilience Domains/Sectors for CRRC Interventions:
- Health & Nutrition/ Improved health capacity and strengthening resistance power of women &
children
1.1. Health based Nutritional gardens/ Nutrigardens
1.2. Designing & promotion of need based dietary plans using locally produced materials - Skill Development & capacity Building
2.1. Participatory soil health management using field interventions and application of web based
tools (for Panchayats & farmers)
2.2 Upskilling and skilling technical training for modern domestic water filters (maintenance and
assembling of products) - Access to Basic Needs/Water security by ground water management
3.1 Water Quality testing and problem management
3.2 Suitable waste water management technology demonstration at house hold (rural).
Geography: 60 villages from 6 Blocks of Haridwar (10 hotspot villages each block) of Uttarakhand, India
Rural Stake Holders (Whom): Youth, Women & Children, Farmers, SHGs, GP, Asha & ANM health
workers, Potential micro entrepreneurs, Students, teachers, Local government line departments
Project Specific Objectives:
- Identification of multidimensionality poverty hot spots in terms of its impact magnitude in all the
six blocks of district Haridwar - Building and enhancing the capacity of society to combat multidimensionality poverty in the
district Haridwar - Enabling communities (especially vulnerable) to access the simple and affordable solutions
through establishment of Community Resilience Resource Centre (CRRC)
Total targeted Beneficiaries: 8000 (SC 2000, Women 3200, Youth 2800)
